Grow more of your food at home.
Transform underused garden space into a connected, productive food-growing system that provides a meaningful yield for your household.
THIS SPRING
Grow a little more of what you eat.
With food costs still high, more of us are thinking about where our food comes from—and whether some of it could come from our own back garden.
You don’t need to become self-sufficient or transform your whole property at once. A few productive beds, some fruit trees, good compost and a thoughtful plan can begin to change how much food your garden provides.
Grow more. Buy a little less. Know where some of your food comes from.
A CLEAR FOOD-GROWING FOCUS
Designed to produce a household yield.
Seed to Sea helps urban households transform underused garden space into productive food-growing systems. This is not conventional landscaping or ornamental planting.
The focus is a garden that produces food and connects the systems that make food growing possible:
• Vegetables, fruit and perennial crops
• Healthy soil and compost
• Water use and storage
• Shelter and microclimates
• Pollinators and biodiversity
• Animals, where appropriate
Every part of the garden is considered for the yield it provides—or the way it supports the wider food-growing system.
