Reimagine your urban section as a living system
Seed to Sea is a small but mighty urban food garden nestled amongst the pōhutukawa trees in Island Bay, Wellington. We show how one ordinary residential section can be transformed through permaculture.
Here, chickens, compost, seasonal crops and locally gathered materials work together to grow nutrient-dense food, build healthy soil and return fertility to the garden.
Seed to Sea is a practical, evolving model of how urban land can nourish people, strengthen community and deepen our relationship with whenua.

Kia ora, I’m Davina – the garden gloves behind Seed to Sea.
My story is grounded in the belief that local people can find practical solutions to a broken food system that increasingly feels disconnected and fragile. At Seed to Sea, I’m exploring what becomes possible when an ordinary urban section is used to grow nourishing food, build healthy soil, share resources and bring people together.
